Fractal Mapper Dungeon Battlemap Example for KotS

First Post
I posted an example battlemap on nbos's website that might be helpful for those of you looking to create your own battlemaps using software instead of buying dungeon tiles. Included are "tapestry" and "terror rune" graphics, though the map I have is solely for Area 1.4 in the goblin area.

Note, I didn't include any secret hallways. I just let my players know the outer battlemap walls are decorative, not necessarily accurate ;)

After playing 4e a few times, my friends and I definitely prefer the map to be drawn by hand as we discover/explore. The DM will have a finished copy in their notes and will draw as necessary as we progress. This makes combat and exploration MUCH more fun, imo. Having to actually get 1 member to a corner to see what was around it adds a ton of emotion to the experience.

Oh, I agree for the most part. When I print these battlemaps, I actually divide them into sections, then add the sections as the party explores, taping each new one into place. I just found it's more aesthetically pleasing to put figures, which are fairly detailed, on a battle map that is likewise fairly detailed.

Anyhow, I submitted this file as much to give folks a peek at what fractal mapper can do as to make an argument for using printed battle maps.
