Free encounter with monsters and maps: Steeder Breeder

Since I had fun posting a full adventure here last week, I thought I'd post an individual encounter that I wrote as well. This one is inspired by the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons adventure "The Gates of Firestorm Peak" and it pits the party against a Duergar Spider Master and his giant spider allies, called Steeders.

The encounter includes monster stat blocks and a map (see below). The blog post about it is here, and you can download the PDF right here.

Please let me know what you think of this. Should I keep posting this sort of thing on EN World? Is there a better resource out there for DMs to post adventures and encounters like these? Do you have suggestions on how to make this encounter / monsters better?

I'm not sure I understand the whip attack correctly... and if I do, it seems a bit over the top. 26 average damage on a hit with an at will?

On the other hand, the steeder damage seems low for a lvl 6 brute, likewise with the minions.

It's a cool encounter though, and other than those quibbles I like it! (It probably doesn't hurt that the adventure it is from is one of my favorites, though...)

Doh! That was a Monster Builder problem on my end. The Hit line is not supposed to be there. The Effect line is supposed to the the Hit line. So, it should read:

Attack: Reach 2; +11 vs. AC
Hit: 3d4+5 damage, and the target is pulled 1 square.

I'm not able to correct it right this second, but I'll fix it this evening. Thank you!
