FREE shipping to the far corners of the planet

(I couldn't figure out where to post this - sorry if this is the wrong forum)

I've been living in Korea for some time and have had serious problems being able to get rpg products (D&D 4e for me). Shipping for minis isn't too expensive, but books double the price, and shipping the new Essentials Box Sets are just ridiculous...

Until now! I have no affiliation with this site, but was so glad to find it that I thought I'd share it here for others who are in the same boat as me - wanting more products but unable to afford the shipping:

https://www.bookdepository.com/

Free Shipping anywhere in the world. It's true and it's legit. :D I bought the Monster Vault, booster packs, DM Kit, Dungeon Tiles, Eberron books, maps, modules.... They have just started to arrive with pretty fast shipping - only five days from UK to Korea.

The prices are slightly more than Amazon, but *the shipping is FREE*. The Monster Vault cost me $25 total! It would cost more than $25 just to ship it from the states. I don't know how they do it, and part of me worries they will change their policy soon - I'm stocking up on all my needs now!

Hope this helps those fellow gamers living in obscurity in the far corners of the planet.

Huh. Yeah, I actually bought something from their UK site, a while back.

Didn't know there was a US one, until now. :o

Thanks! :)

Either I mis-typed or your mis-read. I'm buying from their UK site and shipping them to Korea. Usually I'd buy from US sites and have them shipped to Korea which was just too expensive. Now, my game purchasing inhibitions have been stripped and I'm spending much more than I my wife knows.

Oh, my bad. Because I just discovered they have two domains (.co.uk and .com - the former was what I'd used once) I went on to assume they were actually shipping from two countries.

Ah well. Yeah, good site. :)

I've been using Book Depository for a while now and they are great! They even have a "spread the love" thing going on right now with 10% discounts.

Cool. So if you want to try this site, send me a private msg and I'll have bookdepository send you the 10% off intro offer. Good deal for us both.

:D

I hate bookdepository.

They used to be my favorite rpg dealer, until suddenly some two years ago, they stopped shipping to Denmark, of all EU countries. I know we are a self-righteous backwards country, but at least things usually don't get 'lost in the mail'. No real reason was given ("something with tax").

Then I had them ship to a friend in Sweden. Not only did thay add Danish instead of Swedish VAT, they added it twice. When I complained that besides this, their shop concluded the sale when you clicked 'proceed to review order" I got an arrogant non-answer. I had to contact them thrice to cancel the order.

Sour grapes and all. But good for all you people they will ship to.

Their selection used to be better - these days it's rather limited - but I have good experiences with aphrohead.com

I discovered the Book Depository via one of my work colleagues a month or two ago. With the high Australian dollar at the moment their prices are really cheap. On top of that, shipping to Australia is normally pretty expensive, so free shipping is quite a big saving for me. So far I've only ordered a couple of packs of Dungeon Tiles from them but they arrived safe and sound after a couple of weeks.

I should be getting more books from them for Christmas. I gave my parents a list of links to books (both D&D and non-D&D) that I was interested in if they were stuck for present ideas for me. Here's hoping that Gamma World is one of the books they decide to pick up for me (I hinted pretty strongly! :D).
