Skavenloft released Greenwood Outlaws, a Forged in the Dark game designed for cinematic one-shot play set in a medieval-inspired world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. So yes, you can play in the world of Disney’s Robin Hood. Also available in Polish.

There were so many full RPGs released this week free or PWYW, starting with Trollish Delver’s Games Nightblade, an OSR fantasy system inspired by D&D Basic, 5e, and 13th Age with all the rules available on just four pages.

Murkdice released the second edition of Mud & Blood, a dark fantasy RPG on two pages, one page for players and one for GMs with character sheets that can fit on a tarot card.

Gnome Made Games asks why you should play as a mere mortal when you could be Playing God with this preview edition of the game. Choose your domain, origin, and symbol as you become a god playable either with or without a GM.

The feudal Japanese-inspired RPG Yokai from Ink Blade Publishing lets you explore the lands of Japan hunting down evil spirits with a unique asymmetrical gameplay where the GM becomes an adversarial player once the party enters the Yokai domain as the GM takes over the role of the Yokai with random generation used for the traps, monsters, and environmental changes.

Erik L. Staehle’s The Realm of Legends is a d20 system game inspired by gaming of the 70s and 80s. The 402-page book features everything you need to play in multiple genres including fantasy, sci-fi, and horror.

If you’d like to dabble in some cosmic horror without committing to the dense rules systems out there, Operant Game Lab has a rules-light system with Hideous Truth. Grab a chess set and a deck of cards and prepare to run for your lives.

Fans of Mike Shea’s Lazy DM series who want to take advantage of his system of low-prep gamemastery will want to grab The Lazy RPG Prep Worksheet from Copperpoint Publishing. The two-page worksheet walks you through all eight steps of the process so you can be even more lazy with your prep.

Some of my favorite niche products are when experts in a particular field bring their knowledge to tabletop roleplaying, and Druid GM Designs is doing just that with A Paleontologist’s Guide to Running Prehistoric Beasts by Dr. Jess Miller-Camp with, as it says, expert advice on how to more realistically run prehistoric animals in your game regardless of system.

If you like the cyberpunk RPG CY_BORG but felt that the cybernetics system could use a bit more exploration, WillGriff has All Roads Lead to Chrome, an overthaul of the system with new and revised rules, 20 new pieces of cyberware, 20 malfunctions that can go wrong when cyberware is damaged, a new job, and more.

This week also brought us a variety of different adventures. Zac Betches released the 5e adventure A Mystery at Amnesty designed for larger parties (6 to 9 2nd Level characters) to investigate the disappearance of all the citizens of the desert town of Amnesty.

William Gregg released #JustNecromancerThings, an adventure for “any d100 medieval fantasy roll-under system like WFRP or Zweihander” that sends the party fo the town of Stirsflal to help a necromancer find true love.

Gildor Games looks to celebrate the under-appreciated classes of other fantasy RPG systems with the adventure The Stone of Roc Rock for the Elemental RPG. Five underdog heroes consisting of a druid, illusionist, assassin, bard, and monk must brave the spider-haunted Charcoal Forest and the harrowing Spattered Lands as they seek the legendary Stone of Roc Rock.

Highlander Labs has a Pathfinder adventure that’s ready for a party at any level from 1 to 16. No, that’s not a typo, level one to level sixteen. A Cold Brew sends the party on a quest that has them scaling mountains and trudging through knee-deep snow with maps ready to print or import to your favorite VTT, handouts, and a printer-friendly black-and-white version of the PDF with images removed.

Over on Dungeonmasters Guild, if you’re looking to take on the adventure for Curse of Strahd, there’s a variety of new tools to help you out starting with Root of Evil – A Companion to the Vines of Wrath. This supplement updates “The Vines of Wrath” encounter with the Wizard of Wine with a new minigame dealing with the curse of the Gulthias Staff.

If you want more ways to spice up 5e’s Ravenloft campaign, David Dudhill has a series titled Curse of Strahd Rebitten featuring updates, expansions, and replacements for a wide variety of moments from the adventure including Valentine’s Day – Festival of True Love, a guide to Session Zero for the campaign, expanded storylines for The Final Battle, a streamlined and more challenging Death House, and, of course, the dinner party Dinner with the Devil.

Robert Swanson released The Elves Tell Lies, an adventure for a party of 3rd, 6th, or 11th level involved in the intrigue of the Koroko Dynasty after the revelation of their dark secret.
