Free League Publishing wants to give you a peek at their Invincible Superhero Roleplaying currently on Kickstarter with a new quickstart. This 48-page PDF gives you a streamlined version of the rules, pre-generated characters, social scene cards, cutout character standees, an action map, and the introductory adventure The Clone Job.

Modiphius has a promotion in conjunction with Dune Awakening publisher Funcom to release the rules for Dune: Adventures in the Imperium for free plus discounts on the other titles in the line.

For OSR fans with a particular taste in how old-school they like their games, G.A.Mitchell has Journeyman, Expert, Master Advanced Fantasy – Race-As-Class to convert the rules for Advanced Fantasy to the oldest versions of fantasy roleplay where only human characters got a class and all other species were just the race they were.

Birk Ross wants to expand Tales of the Valiant with the playable lineages that aren’t in the game because they’re not released under an open license for 5e with Converted Lineages. Find guidelines for converting catfolk, turtlefolk, and other 5e species to the Black Flag system.

I said "versions". Plural. Because multiple early version of Basic D&D used race-as-class. AD&D never did, that always separated race and class back to 1st edition.

Race as class didn't come into D&D until 1981... 7 years later and being the 4th version (5th if one distinguishes 1974 original from '76 with the 1976 supplements - almost AD&D. If you're writing that portion of the copy, it's misleading.

If you don't think 40+ year old versions of a 50 year old game don't count as "oldest versions of the game", I don't know what to tell you.
