Freedom City: non M&M..Buffy

First Post
One of the things that impressed me most abouyt Freedom City (if you don't know what it is, it's a city setting book for Green Ronin's Mutants and
Masterminds) was the detail of the city. In fact, it is so well detailed I figured at the time that one can easily remove the super hero information and have a great city setting for any modern game.

So, that's what I'm doing. I am setting my new Buffy/Angel RPG game in Freedom City. Has anyone else used the setting? Could be for M&M or another game? I'm curious how it holds up.

You should check out Nocturnals, Green Ronin's latest book for M&M. It goes into alot of depth on the style of non-super powered game that it sounds like you are interested in.

Are you using Eden's, I think that's what the company is called, Buffy and Angel books? If not, you can use the M&M core book for the Buffyverse game as well. There is no rule that M&M HAS to be used for strictly for super hero games

I just bought this book and I agree that the mechanics would be awesome in a Buffy style campaign

I am using the Eden system for the rules, but Freedom City is just such a well defined place that I just had to u8se it for a setting.

I'm not familiar with Eden's system, except a passing familiarity with AFMBE, so how is that set up for a higher then normal powered campaign?

FC is a great campaign book, maybe the best non D&D one out there.

The system is built for it and to allow normal type people to be side by side a super [powered person like the Vampire Slayer. Stats are usually 1-5, wit 2 being human average. One can get higher and Slayers usually do with the physical stuff.

It's very simplistic. All one needs is a single d10 and the game is designed so the Director (DM) doesn't even roll dice.
