Freedom of Movement and Dimensional Anchor?

I am wondering if a Freedom of Movement effect will negate the effects of Dimensional Anchor. I don't think it should but I wanted to hear what other peple thought or if there is some ruling on it.

Thanks

I don't think so, no. However, you could probably use Freedom of Movement and Craft Wondrous Item to create something that would protect you from Dimensional Anchor.

Why would the magical item need freedom of movement? Freedom of Movement has nothing in it to support it is a way to beat or circumvent a Dimensional Anchor. I'm not sure if there is any spell that comes across as a good anti-dimensional anchor spell and seems plausable as to a component in a magical item.

I would say no. Simply because if freedom of movement could negate dimensional anchor, one or both spells would mention it somewhere in their description(s).

This is a dangerous assumption. These books have limited space. They can't specifically reference every possible interaction between spells, feats, skills, magic items, etc ... When the specific reference is there, it is very helpful. If it is not there, it is best to not make any assumptions that the absense of the comment has any intended ramifications. In other words, if there is no specific reference between the spells, figure it out from scratch.

Wasn't making an assumption at all (well maybe a little one). Just stating that if you could in fact use freedom of movement against dimensional anchor it would be in the text. I dont expect every spell to list how it interacts with other spells, items, etc....but something like that, yeah, I would assume that WotC would list it as such.

If ya want my honest (from scratch) opinion, then no....it doesnt work. :D
