Not to be anal but freedom of speech mostly only applies to government restrictions really. So, private boards can, and should shut down threads, like this one. Pleasing a few jerks at the expense of the larger audience isn't a bright move for private entities.

Ya, the freedom of speech is not everything it's cracked up to be. We are more limited to speech then many people realize, it's just that A) Most people are descent and never cross the line B) No one around realizes a person is crossing the line or cares C) It's not worth the trouble top try to prosecut.

While I do believe in the saying "I may not agree with what you are saying, but I will defend your right to say." I've found that 19 out of 20 people who complain about thier freedom of speech on these boards are not worth the trouble.

The ones I love the most are the ones who cry freedom of speech not because you are oppressing them or anything. But becuase you vocally disagree with them.
