Frenzy + rage

Can you frenzy and rage at the same time, thereby making the bonuses cumulative (and the penalties, of course).. ?

It is definitely allowable by the rules, and the bonuses are unnamed. That's one of the big reasons that Frenzied Berserkers are so strong.

I agree with Thanee.. ruleswise it seems OK (as nothing to the contrary is said).. but in my opinion frenzy just seems like a more powerful way of raging

Hmm.. indeed it does.. right there at the end.. so if a frenzied berserker rages.. and is then injured, failiing her saving throw and then goes berserk.. I guess it makes sense after all. Still, a powerful prestige class I must say

Well, I was answering more in a general way... there are a few different Frenzy ablities, after all.

I also never saw and probably will never see a Frenzied Berserker in play, therefore I never really looked it up. But, if it says that both stack, then it's clear enough, I guess.

I did, in a very short planar campaign. It was funny: All his strength didn't help too much as the enemy had a high AC, but with his low AC he got copious amounts of hurt. He had Deathless Frenzy, in the end he had several hundred negative hit points, and we had to scramble to heal him up back to normal levels - and that was while he was raging. I think we paralyzed him or something. This was in 3.5, meaning that heal didn't just cure him.

Why did they get rid of the clause from 3.0 where even if you do heal the FB, he still dies after a Deathless Frenzy drops him to -10 or lower? Because the FB in my campaign has that happen to him in every important fight, and that silly new rephrasing would mean they didn't even have to Rez him....

Didn't matter for us, it was the final fight.
