Fresh Campaign Setting Sought

Dark Seraph

First Post
I am in need of a fresh fantasy campaign setting. I started off with FR since its inception, I have explored the content of the Midnight Campaign Setting to some extent, having purchased a number of its core books. Perhaps some of you could suggest a number of campaign setting similar to FR and Midnight, in terms of depth, detail and unique-ness. I would like my next setting to steer away from high magic.

Thanks in advance.

Scarred Lands, tons of depth and sourcebooks, good post divine war apocalypse feel to it. Has a lot of magic options but the default is not high magic.

I would suggest Iron Kingdoms. It's a very deep, well written and original setting. I bet you'd like it base on what your describing.

Thirded. The IK sourcebooks have a level of detail seldom seen in RPG settings. The first chapter of the main book covers the different planets in the solar system, the moons, the holidays, and most importantly, the mythology behind it all. And it works.

I'm not sure that "I want to steer away from high magic" means "and please let me replace it with steampunk-by-another-name."

If he's looking for a highly detailed lower-magic setting, I'd say Kalamar more than fits the bill. Highly detailed, a lower default level of magic, and fresh-to-him.

I'll second Scarred Lands. It has a more desperate feel to it that may fit what you are looking for.
I don't own the Scarred Lands myself -- I keep telling myself to pick up Hollowfaust, but never do -- but the setting has a skyscraper-sized inert golem standing over a city and a city run by necromancers with a zombie labor force (Hollowfaust, in fact). That reads "high magic" to me. Is the rest of the setting lower-powered to bring the average magic level back down?
