Before everybody starts making too many plans, please be advised that we are in the midst of securing the hall after the Awards for an additional hour of post-ceremony entertainment and revelry (until midnight).

they tend to vaccillate between the indiana roof ballroom and the crown hotel's grand hall. either location is pretty swell.
and no, no idea as of yet as to the location, nor how late we'll be able to go after the awards. but i'll post it as soon as get confirmations!

Clearly this should be part of our work in rebranding the events as a gala. As such, it might be more appropriate to distribute the entertainment more evenly through the event (maybe a third of it during the 30-60 minute reception preceding the actual awards). What exactly are we looking at?

I'm fairly experienced with the pacing of gala awards events and would rather we not head too far off the beaten path. The people you're inviting in as entertainers: what level/portion of audience attention do they typically want when they perform? We need to figure this out before we come up with how to integrate them into the schedule.

Things start at 9pm. Unfortunately, it's the Exhibitor Reception just before, so it's a tad difficult to have our own reception... Unless I can convince the Powers That Be at Gen Con that there could be some overlap... We could say our reception starts at 8:30 (which is while the Exhibitor's Party is winding down), and then get the awards started at 9:15...

Hmmmmm. Lots of ellipses in this post.

As for the entertainment, one possibility is LukeSki doing a set, another possibility is simply having a DJ spin some tunes. Or a combination thereof.
