Re: Re: What about the Monkeys? Well, I just hope that you don't somehow get shafted in a deal between Wizards and Fluid. It seems unlikely that Fluid could proceed without special license from Wizards - and you can bet that they'd like to use the ETools code that they created as part of that. The CodeMonkey/ETools deal was managed by Anthony V, who no longer works there - under orders from his manager to fix up the ETools problem. Looking from the outside, it seems that a fair bit of PCGen momentum was deflected towards the ETools commercial deal. A strange kind of deal, where the main guys of one of the most active open source (SourceForge) projects, got deflected into comercially supporting its opposition. It would be very unfortunate if ultimately even that deal got shafted out of expediency for a return to the original Fluid/MasterTools concept. Hope it all turns out well. PS: In think I can appreciate the "strange deal". I gather that it all came about in quest of the "holy grail" for non-core Wizards source books. From what I see, Wizards set all the hoops (OGL/D20 compliance etc), and then still didn't support the PCGen free dataset concept. Instead the hoop became: We charge, the main guys get a cut, and we get ETools fixed up for us (or something close to that). Worked out well all-around - except for those who wanted the original concept of free PCGen dataset support for books already purchased. Still, Wizards weren't going to have it any other way, despite expectations on the carrots originally dangled.
