This is a thread to post your cool city ideas.

e.X. The city of Asiriant is contained within a bubble that bounces eternally along the fields of eternity. Despite its bouncing, thhe city and its residents are not tossed about, but all remain firmly grounded as if in any other city. The only way to get in is to try to time it right and hope you get into the side of the bubble that is not where the foundation ofthey city is.

Someone else likes Calvino :)

Hmmm, which reminds me -- Castle of Crossed Destinies would make a really great adventure...

When I think about it, none of my D&D projects have supported great cities, at least ones where humans would ever want to go. How about a town, of sorts?

The Camp of the Flaming Flags is located in a wasteland of black rock and stinking vapours. It's a collection of tents by the side of a lake of bubbling pitch fed by sluggish waterfalls of oil. The Camp is a bazaar frequented by mercenaries and desperadoes where every kind of weapon is for sale, but especially alchemical items. The merchants advertise the trade of their town by huge banners of fireproof fibre, raised on metal poles, that are soaked in oil each morning and blaze smokily throughout the day.

Margrave - The City on Stilts

Five Hundred years ago Margrave was a busy port city on the cross roads of a number of trade lanes when with a shift of the ground the city sunk ten feet (this was due to the collapse of an underground cave), the sea rushed in, the devastaion was massive but the city lived on. The people of Margrave re-built their city, each building on stone stilts, standing above the sea. Unlike Venice, Margrave does not have cannels, the water below is just that below in the catacombs of the city.
