They had been freaked out on finding this tougher level and fighting their way through to get to the BBEG but they burst out laughing when he said who he was. "The New Master." They didn't believe it was actually his name in the module until I covered up most of the text and showed them that was his name. It took them several forays to take him out after joining with him briefly and then betraying his men. By the end he had turned all his dead guards into zombies and bought a shrieker fungus with a lot of his treasure in his ongoing security measures to stop the invading adventurers. He was a great villain but I just wish I had stuck with his given name instead of the title Gygax gave him.</p></blockquote><p></p>
