Future Careers - Stealth issues

Razorstorm

First Post
I've finally had some time to sit down and start reading the Future Careers book, and I really like it! This system is really scratching my "character building as a puzzle" itch. However, in trying to build a classic Marine Scout/Special Forces character, I'm hitting a weird obstacle that I have to think is an oversight, or perhaps I'm missing something.

It seems impossible to access the Scout/Special Forces or Sniper careers using the purely military career path, unless you start life as an Orphan or a Talent. The prescribed career path for this archetype would be: Origin, Academy, Marine Cadet, Marine Tour, the Scout/Special Forces or Sniper. The Stealth skill is a prerequisite to access both of those careers, but the only careers that grant access to Stealth, without also requiring it as a prereq are: Felan Scavenger, Orphan, Talent, Talent, Bounty Hunter, Detective, Intelligence Officer/Spy, Prisoner.

So without some non-military pause in your career, it really isn't possible to access the Scout/Special Forces or Sniper careers, which is super weird, and I can't imagine was intended. It seems like Marine Tour should maybe have the Stealth skill as an option, meaning that once you hit your active tours, you learned the necessary skills to get you into your more advanced careers. Or maybe Scout/Special Forces and Sniper should continue to grant access to Stealth, but maybe not require it as a prereq?

Or maybe I'm just missing something in the character creation process where I could somehow pick up Stealth some other way?

Thanks!

Grrr. I swear I fixed that about a dozen times! Somehow it still sneaked through! (No pun intended... well, not much).

Those two careers should have an "or" inserted in the prerequisites. Scout is stealth or [combat]. Sniper is stealth or rifles. Thanks for spotting it - errata note!
