The whole bit about Joes never getting shot in the cartoons is true in the comic book and tv show from the 80s...until issue....what 106? That was the start of Joes actually dying and it all starts when Doc looks out of the bunker they're in and gets a rifle between his eyes and BLAM! 10 Joes die in that issue and aftera few issues the body count is up to 21. I missed about 80 issues in between (remember the cool Origin of Snake Eyes in issue 26?) but started reading it again then. Heh if you want some seriously wacky 80s marvel comics tho, read the Star Wars comics they did. Boba Fett was female and joined the Rebels towardd the end of the series. Of course Hoojibs and those little ewok like guys who grow up to be big snarling creatures are also odd. Both of those races are in the Aliens Anthology book tho. Corrections on the GI Joe stuff....GI Joe issue 109 was the start http://www.yojoe.com/comics/joe/joe109.shtml The battle in Trucial Abysmia continues, and Tomax and Xamot misinterpret Cobra Commander's order to release the captured Joes, and a SAW-Viper kills four of them: Doc, Heavy Metal, Thunder and Crankcase. The remaining Joes escape, but three more: Breaker, Crazylegs, and Quick Kick, are killed when the vehicle they are escaping on is destroyed. The Joes send help by dropping a vehicle from low orbit. issue 113 More Joe casualties are added to the list: Sneak-Peek, Avalanche, Blocker, Maverick, Blaster, Knockdown, and Dee-Jay. So 14 deaths in 5 issues Hagen
