Gabe just revealed an alpha of a CCG card game style, dnd themed hybrid game he is messing around with...


I think this is honestly where some people thought DND would go when Wizards bought the brand years ago, and once again when 4ed came out,
and put powers on cards, and started with the fortune cards.

From his basic outline, this looks like a fun diversion to me, and I wouldn't mind seeing it developed more.

I agree -- is sounds like fun, and might attract a number of converts from CCGs. I'm not sure how it translates to a true RPG, but perhaps it is its own category.

Hopefully he keeps developing it!

The basics of the game seem very solid. As a guy who's been playing RPGs for what, 5 years maybe, it looks like he has a very solid grasp on cool and efficient gameplay mechanics.

I'm kinda jealous to be honest...

Not sure about the Kickstarter part, but there was a Genisys RPG previewed here on ENWorld recently that used cards (and had a very similar wound mechanic).

Damn. That's a really elegant set of game mechanics he invented. I can see that game being great fun to play. I hope he continues developing it.

My favourite part of the link was the picture of their game table. I would --love-- one of those. Hmmm, living in the Philippines I think I might be able to get a copy knocked up for a decent price....
