Number 47... sigh... The idea here is to create an environment where FUN can be had by all. Not just your bard armed with a Time Stop and Shapechange, when the challenge is supposed to be for 10th level characters...(yeah right, Solar is a good challenge for a 10th level character...) The wording for Shapechange requires that you "be familiar" with the form. I would have ruled that it was not a form you were "familiar" with. The other character concepts HAVE had ideas nerfed: puchasing partially charged wands was thrown out because it gave access to higher level spells too cheap. Fighters do not have unlimited access to what ever equipment they desire... they have to pay for it. In an ordinary campaign, how many 10th level bards just saunter off to their local 17th+ level wizard and purchase five 9th level scrolls? Just because the scrolls are set to a certain price, Does not mean that they are readily accessible. Be happy. You have irrevocably shown that unlimited access to scrolls is a Bad Thing. ALSO consider that the bard with UMD is NOT nerfed... she still has the possibility to cast ANY spell from a scroll, and use ANY item up to the level allowed. So if we are talking about 10th level, that would include spells like Harm, Summon Monster VI, Mass Suggestion, Mass Haste, Anti-Life Shell,Greater Dispelling, Disintegrate, Acid Fog. You are welcome to point out any other similarily munchkinned race/class/feat combinations... None of the other players seem to have come up with such obviously overpowering combinations. (although the nezumi run the risk of being upgraded to ECL +1 in my campaign...I don't have access to OA yet, but they seem powerful out of their context, where they are socially limited or so I gather from Agladan. However it is a poor method of balancing a race for a Game of Death) As to the followers... DO you have ANY idea as to the amount of time poor MacBrea has had to spend just to keep track of 40+ 1st level warriors running around the arena? I miss the old morale checking days... they should be just pissing in their boots when the realise what their "master" has gotten them into... canon-fodder against 10th level characters! You are supposed to take care of them or they surrender/flee! I WOULD consider allowing 1 or 2 followers, but not a whole busload of 1st level bandaids.
