So I’m running a one-shot at a local convention at the end of this month, and my idea is to do a Game Show from Hell game. I have 10 players and they will each create a 7th level D&D 3.5 character using WOTC books, plus 20,000 gold to outfit themselves as they see fit. Then they will each chose a creature whose CR/ECL is 6 or less to use as their playing piece for the game, any creature they want from the PHB, DMG, MM1 I’ll get to why in a sec. There will be 3 rounds. Round 1 will be Q&A style with all the answers found in the 3 core books. Round 2 will be physical skill challenges for their chosen creatures (climb, jump, bluff, diplomacy, listen, appraise etc...) Round 3 will be a battle royal with all contestants with the player and their creature as a team. After every correct answer in round 1, the player will get an item, a template, gold, or swap their creature with another player’s creature. This will be done “Let’s make a deal style” although the players can bribe the host to found out what is behind a particular door. The items can be used to outfit the player or the creature. In round 2 the winners will be determined by the highest modified roll, ties will dice off. Finally in round 3 the teams face off against each other in a 100’ X 100’ square room with obstacles and cover, to determine the overall winner. I realize it’s a short description, does this sound too complicated? Too….. Something? Are there any suggestions to make it better? Thanks in advance H.M.
