Hello gents and ladies, I've got the potential for a unique opportunity here, and I wanted to see what you all thought of it before going ahead. In addition to my freelance writing and webmastering, I'm still a full-time college student at the University of Tennessee. One of the nice things about being at UT is that our college of Communications is very good, and as a result we, as students, have our own radio station completely operated and staffed by the student body. I've been talking to the programming director at our radio station (WUTK) about the possibility of hosting my own radio talk show. The idea is to do a show about roleplaying games, similar to how other college stations have shows about comics, movies, etc. One of the nice things is that, in addition to broadcasting all over the city of Knoxville, WUTK has a RealAudio feed that can be heard anywhere in the world if you have an internet connection. The basic premise would be to spend a chunk of the beginning of the show recapping the gaming news of the week and offering reviews of some major products, then have a guest on the show from the industry (if not in-studio then over the phone) for a while, and maybe call-in discussion after that. The show would only be an hour long, once a week, and would air late night (probably around 11 PM Eastern/8 PM Pacific) so as to avoid the prime-time college radio listening crowd. So, my question is this. Assume for a moment you're a local gamer that would be able to listen to this on your radio. Would you? And now, since most of you aren't local, would anyone listen over the RealAudio stream? I'm just trying to figure out whether or not it would be worth it to spend my time putting someting like this together. Any other feedback you might have would be great, too.
