First Post
we all saw the paladin dice bag/dice charity that so many here contributed to. and i know randomling works in the public schools in the u.k.

sniktch and i grow our hair and send it to sick childern who cannot grow their own via "locks for love" and i work in the local schools, retirement homes and with adult day care programs as well as donating pieces to charity auctions 10-20 tiems a year.

it seems to me one the overreaching trends in this community may be charity work and community service. i would like to hear what the rest fo you are doing, be it $5 to the world wildlife fund or dedicating your life to orphans in between game sessions.

what are you doing for the world? (please do not include sharing your incredible wisdom in the rules forum as charity work;) )

Two of the players in my group are doing horrendous things to their hair for charity. Namely one is shaving off his long hair which is his pride and joy and the other (my brother) is bleaching his black hair, they're raising quite a bit of money in school. That's for Comic Relief.

I follow the letter writing and things in Amnesty International and I'm a member of the school council where we decide how to raise money and awareness of charities.

Not too much, I should do more really, I'll try and go about that sometime :)

I donate a little money around Xmas-time.

When 3.5 comes out you'll probably see a post from me about donating my 3.0 books to a library or overseas military unit (who would use the books more?)

yeppers. and so have i. we were out at Chamblee for a few years, too.

I actually work for Catholic Charity (even though I'm not Catholic). We have an annual appeal that runs from April to July, and we use the funds to support different charities throughout RI, including education and assisting the elderly. I started there as a temp during one of their appeals, and I really liked the job. The people I work with are great, too, so I feel pretty lucky that I found such a great place to work.

Besides that, Xaltar & I donate to a local homeless shelter that provides meals for the homeless on holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter (holidays they would normally spend alone). We have also given to various other charites that research Cancer, The Children's Crainofacial Foundation, and we support the Humane Society and PETA. We also donate a bit to United Way through Payroll Deduction.

We can't afford much, but a little bit here and there can help those in need, and that makes us feel good. :)
