I partially agree. They produce great miniatures, the games are really fun, and if you are in an area that has a good store with a lot of people then playing any GW game is a blast. I will say that high standard of quality (at least as it pertains to rules and editing) is pretty much a joke. I was one of the writers on the Lustria: Cities of Gold supplement to Mordheim years ago and I saw how the rules on Mordheim progressed. I've never seen a company that defended a typo in a book and passed the rule off as canon. I've also never seen so many rule inconsistencies in my life when it comes to a game (especially a game that has such a huge tournament following and relies so much on the rules). The guys at the GW Studio are awesome. I got a tour of their facility and was probably the first person outside of the studio to see the Lord of the Rings stuff (when I said that their scenery looked like Weather Top their faces dropped!). The guys were great to talk to including Space McQuirk, Steve Hambrook (RIP), et al., but they were severely understaffed and the rules balancing and editing paid for it. When I recently looked at what a boxed unit costs, my jaw hit the floor. A lot of stuff is more then 50% higher then what I used to pay for a scant 4 years ago. Sorry, that's INSANE. And contrary to what everyone says, their stock prices have been on a steady decline for a long time. If I lived near ANY gaming store that supported GW, I'd probably be playing to some capacity. But no way in hell I'll fork over the $ they charge for their products.
