I spent like a month agonizing over a lawn mower. Which one to buy? Gas? Electric? Being a tech enthused, certified youngster, looked at it the same way I'd purchase something like a cellphone, computer part, or TV. I went over the pros and cons, and honestly, the lower maintenance of the electric mower was really appealing. Not having to worry about keeping gas on hand, worrying about the gas going bad in the mower over the winter.. On top of all of that, the 'ol lady and I have already declared allegiance to Team Home Depot in the hardware store wars, and have a credit card with nice cash back rewards that took some of the sting out of the seemingly endless buckets of paint we had to purchase. Home Depot either owns, or has some sort of partnership with Ryobi, and they had a good deal last year where I bought the mower, and two batteries, and got a string trimmer for free. The batteries are the same that are used on all Ryobi power tools so I get some nice backwards compatibility for any future purchases, like a drain snake I think I have to purchase for the tub <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f635.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt="o_O" title="Er... what?    o_O"  data-smilie="12"data-shortname="o_O" />Regardless, all of this is to say that a week or two ago my neighbor, who is a super friendly ex pat stopped me to ask if I liked it, and that he was thinking of buying one to replace his aging gas mower. I spared him the diatribe.. I could have went on and on about how "Like" is a bit loaded, and that I actually hold a lot of contempt for the device.. Shunning it to the darkest corner of my garage after each use, only bringing it out the next week when I have to once again do battle with the yard. I saw yesterday when it was delivered that he did end up purchasing one, but of a different brand.. So if he ends up hating it, I at least have the plausible deniability that perhaps it was his brand choice, and not my endorsement of electric mowers as a whole that led to his downfall. Next up... I need to purchase a grill. Where do you lot fall on the charcoal vs propane debate?</blockquote>
