Gaseous Form question

How would you guys play off a situation where you have one of your players who cast Gaseous form on themselves, and then another player or npc who cast gust of wind or something that would distorte the air e.g., a tornado. Would the player who is in Gaseous form be taking significantly more damage than she would if she was in normal form?

What if their was a type of suction or vacuum that entraps air, and the player is stuck in Gaseous form, would she take damage because of the suction and/or because of the the spell duration being released?

If the effect of the opposing side has finished with their wind spell, then sure. I would have to say yes. If she wants to turn back to normal during the time the spell it taking place, a concentration check might be in order. I just want to know how to play this off in regards to her taking damage.

I see nothing in the gaseous form spell description to suggest that a creature in gaseous form should take extra damage from wind effects. It notes that they are "subject to the effects of wind," not that they are especially vulnerable to it.

As for being trapped by suction, that would certainly work, and once the gaseous form spell ended, the target would return to normal form and be affected by the suction however he normally would.

Exactly. You don't take extra damage or whatever by being blown to bits, you're just blown away because you weigh next to nothing.

Idrc anything in the spell's fluff indicating the user suffers DAMAGE from wind effects, merely they are subject to them ... IOW such a person would be unharmed but forceably relocated by the wind for the spell/wind's effects.
