I have certainly come across a few who were trying to be discreet about their homosexuality and who played distinctly straight characters as part of their general protective coloration. And I have known a few guys who seemed troubled or uncertain about their sexuality and who played conspicuously macho characters for whatever reasons. But there is only one gay guy who has played in more than half a dozen campaigns that I have played in or GMed. I've known him to play a straight woman and a lesbian, and lots of gay men. And of course there have been a lot of characters, probably a majority, whose sexuality was never discussed. He might have thought of those as straight. But I've never known him to play a straight man that I was aware of.In my experience straight guys play gay characters far more often than gay guys who are out play straight male characters.
