Complementary drinks, food and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and Diamond customers can peruse over 200 years of pop culture memorabilia while rubbing elbows with industry professionals, fellow retailers, Diamond & Alliance staff and, possibly, a Stormtrooper or two. Ramping up the fun several notches, costumed members of the 501st and Rebel Legions – fan organizations boasting thousands of chapters worldwide – will be swarming throughout the museum, and partygoers that evening can take in a special 30 Years of Star Wars exhibit, which runs at GEM through September 15. Plus, superstar Eric Powell – creator of Dark Horse Comics’ The Goon – will be on hand and signing autographs, giving retailers another monstrously good reason to drop by GEM for the party!</p><p></p><p>Located at Camden Station in downtown Baltimore, Geppi’s EntertainmentMuseum is a 17,000-square-foot repository of comics, books, playthings and advertising that shaped entertainment and defined our national identity. The world’s largest showcase of comics, collectibles and pop culture, GEM is a unique educational facility, presenting thousands of incredible artifacts, including: Benjamin Franklin’s historical “Join or Die” cartoon; Brownies, Tarzan, Hopalong Cassidy and Star Trek collectibles; the prototype for the first G.I. Joe action figure; original art from the creators of Batman, L’il Abner, Spider-Man and Popeye; and much more.
