I think this is a great idea. I don't think it would be right though, if we played a Larp or Amber. We are all part of a d20 messegeboard, it just seems like we would play something d20... Not that I'm against anything else, it just seems odd to me. And we don't need to try and run one big scenerio simultaneously. Too complex, too bogged down, and slow. We need a written adventure that a number of tables of 4-6 players each can join in on. And get Piratecat. Get him in on this. Hell, let him make some of the decisions about what the best way to have such a game take place would be. PC knows this kind of gaming pretty well, I suppose, so someone tell him what is going on! If we had a Enworld Adventure Module and enough players and DMs, we could probably set two slots open (9 hours together) to play one major module... Some groups might do well, others might not... but I'm sure it would all be fun talking about it afterwords. The big bad evil guy should be a feline 'pirate', but that's just my skull speaking. For character generation, borrow a couple rules from the Play by Post forums on this messegeboard. 1) Point Buy, 2) Set a starting level, 3) Set starting gold, 4) Set what books (Just core rulebooks 3.5 (SRD) probably). That would prevent any issues of confusion there...
