GenCon: Hotels & Rooms

Last year we had a nice suite at the Embassy Suites. Separate bedroom, mini kitchenette, fold-out sofa in the living room (and FABULOUS breakfasts and cocktail hour!)- it was a great experience. Unfortunately they were booked by the time we got registered, so now we're making do with a VIP room (why yes, I am riding on the coattails of my childrens' success at the costume contest) at the Hyatt.

Last year I got to see what a 2 bedroom suite looked like at the Hyatt (thanks to the BoEF party- wheeeeee!), but have no idea how big a "double" room is.

We'd like to be able to host the Canadiana Suite and some pickup games (Gelfling #1 wants to run a D&D game, and Hound wants to run a Cyberpunk game), but suspect that our room'd be too small.

So- did anyone stay at the Hyatt last year? Is it any larger than Joe-Average hotel room? Smaller? Do you think we'd be able to pull off hosting some gaming over maple cookies and all-dressed chips and poutine? Or should we find a kind soul with a larger room to spare and mug them for their room key?

You may want to post over at the GENCON forums too.

Was at the Adam's Mark last year but did try for Embassy Suites this year but it seems to be the hotel of choice. ;)

Mmmmm. I'm going to be stopping by your room again this year,if you don't mind. You guys had the best snacks at the con, and the nicest bunch of Canadians I've ever hung out with!
