Now that GenCon event registration has opened, I gotta ask...

How many of you discovered Wizards' secret mystery seminar?

What is the Sundering? (SEM1233080) - Gen Con Indy 2012

"D&D" isn't in the seminar title. It's being offered at two different times and is two hours long. "Host" is listed as "Wizards of the Coast." "Description" is listed as "Trust us. You'll want to know."

Let the speculation begin.

My guess is they will unveil that 5e is secretly being made by animated chocolate bunnies and you will play chocolate bunnies in 5e and have to fight against pudgy kids that try and eat you.

Was the Sundering the schism in the D&D fanbase that came from the Edition Wars?

Back a few years ago, Penny Arcade created a wiki so people could invent lore for a fictional novel line, called Epic Legends of the Hierarchs: The Elementstor Saga. The whole thing was an over the top pastiche of fantasy cliches.

The timeline of the history listed several major events like:

The Sundering
The Unsundering
and
The Resundering
