Hey, I'm super bored at work and for some reason feel the need to mentally stat Geralt from the Witcher books/cRPG...Any ideas? Not necessarily looking for any specifics, just general class combos, abilities, etc....interested in how different people would approach this.

The entire world of The Witcher is strongly influenced by 1st and 2nd edition AD&D, and except for the main character, it all can be straightforwardly converted into 4E...

However, the whole Witcher class was created wholecloth by Sapkowski and it seems a tad too powerful ...which is ok for the kind of stories he's telling (basically solo adventures), but probably too much for regular party play.

I would emulate it by lightly re-skinning the Swordmage or heavily re-skinning an Avenger, depending if you want to focus on Geralt's defensive, "magical" sword skills, or in his "monster-slaying" skills.

Yeah, that makes solid sense, and I agree. Thanks for your advice!

That's ok, those books (at least the first three) brought a smile to my lips... Back on the AD&D 2nd Ed days, I used to play a spoony Bard called Amphimir in every table I was invited to.

He was exactly like Jaskier (Dandelion in the English edition, IIRC)! A lovable coward with a heart of gold...

Strangely enough, the bard class in 4E is a tad too competent for this kind of character... But I'll rebuild him anyway, for the lulz! ;)
