Actually. that's what the party I was in did when this was first introduced way back in the 1st edition. I mean, my character magic missiled it to death and boom. insta roast chicken. yum.

This was back in first edition. and the DM ruled that Magic Missile roasted it. ^)^. or maybe it was burning hands.... i forget. i was only 11 or 12 at the time.
