Message: <blockquote data-quote="NewJeffCT" data-source="post: 1104949" data-attributes="member: 10784">Hmm, I have been gaming for a good 25 years now.  I have gamed with several groups and at two different colleges – one mid-sized school, the other fairly large (the University of CT)… in all that time, I have gamed with a grand total of one woman.  She was actually a pretty good gamer and a very attractive woman, though she got into gaming through her boyfriend (now husband)  Most of the guys I have gamed with I would say definitely fall into the comic shop/heavy to obese/ underachiever /rarely (if ever) date stereotype.  I am married with a young baby, and one other guy is married with two kids.  We are the exceptions to at least the underachiever stereotype.But, I have rarely seen gamer girls at any of the local stores, unless they are with boyfriends.  Some of the other guys in my group have gamed with women, but they were usually wives of gamer types as well.  And, a few years back, before I met my wife (who does not game, but says she is interested in learning – though I sometimes think she says that to humor me...) I tried to get a group together on Sundays and one of the people that responded was a lesbian (yes, for real).  However, soon after that, I found a job that required sweatshop hours out of me and I had to get out of gaming.I would love to find some female gamers, as I thought our group did a great job when we did have that one woman in the group… though, I do think some of the guys were in awe of her, as they were not used to being around women.  (Not to the point of drooling, at least that I saw…)  And, she did add a different perspective than we were used to and added to the role-playing dynamic.</blockquote>
