Message: <blockquote data-quote="cptg1481" data-source="post: 798785" data-attributes="member: 5360">I feel fine posting it this or any other forum, thank you.  I think that the operative phrase here is discussion of rules.  Now in my opinion in a discussion there are many sides that can be taken.  In fact, of the myriad of possible points of view more than one may be considered a valid assesment of the topic.  In this case as in many, one of those possible points of view, especially when discussing rules is that the rule iteself has no merit.   When I made my comments above it was my intent to opine that the mere existance of a particular rule is not much of an argument in and of iteslf.  I wished to imply that there are many rules in existance and that not all of them are that well thought out nor appropriate for all situations as written.  In this case especially, in a game that can be played a thousand ways and not be wrong, what is most important is that one has fun.  For some that is regarding the rules as an inmutable sacred cannon to be revered and adheared to at all costs, however, for others the rules are a loose set of guidelines.  That is the point I wished to make....The point I make with this post in that although this is the rules forum both sides of the issue, that is both the opinions of those for the rule and those against it are valid in this forum.  Thanks....</blockquote>
