Hail to you, courageous adventurers! Welcom to The Eastern Expanse, a 'west marches' style sandbox campaign. (ars ludi » Grand Experiments: West Marches) The Eastern Expanse features a massive player base, with multiple coordinated Dungeon Masters, all gaming in a shared world. Players contact each other through our online forums, establish exactly when and where they want to play their next session, and then one of the Dungeon Masters steps up to run the session. In this way, modern-day scheduling conflicts are abolished as playeres dictate how often and when they game on a session by session basis. The ennui and apathy commonly found in sandbox games is eliminated by the semi-competitive nature of the expanse. There is no regular time. There is no regular party. The untamed, lawless expanse beckons. The game is a shared world, meaning that each player has the ability to radically alter the campaign and affect all those around them. There are unique wonders to be found in the expanse, such as powerful magic artifacts and deadly foes. The danger is real too, DM's will not "throw their punches" and will run each area as we have planned out. It is a deadly world out there, and we will not cater to your group. There will be deadly villains and monsters beyond your capabilities, that will only be defeated through smart planning and immersion into the game world. The setting is a homebrewed single point of light against a sea of unrelenting darkness. Play is also somewhat competitive; only the strong and the bold will be able to tackle the unknown dangers of the expanse and wrest free the glorious treasures within. The style is very much that of a frontier expedition, like old westerns such as The Magnificent Seven. Go to our website, sign up for The Eastern Expanse, and get your game on! <A href="http://heroesguildonline.com">heroesguildonline.com
