Glory Road Roleplay

$4.50 gets you the 96-page core rules.
It has a lifepath method for character generation on the support website as an alternative to what's in the book. It doesn't require purchasing the booik and It could be used for other systems.
It has an introduction by C.J. Carella, the creator of the Unisystem and game designer for Steve Jackson Games, Palladium and Eden Studios. He wrote the Buffy Rules, All Flesh Must be Eaten and several other games. He is now a successful novelist, look him up on Amazon, he's great, and runs a game using the Glory Road Rules and plays in my campaign using the Glory Road Rules. The game's been played by a lot of people in the New Haven, Connecticut area since the 1980's
It is admittedly crunchy, not at all rules lite, and the core rules booklet has no colorful fluff, just the rules.

Has the weapons, armor, spells and encounters that would have made the game bigger and more expensive.
It has a sandbox setting called "The Black Mountain District" and a small adventure to start characters off "At the High Point Inn."
