Message: <blockquote data-quote="tetrasodium" data-source="post: 9382504" data-attributes="member: 93670">Tinker gnomes aren't the only gnomish trope, it probably works better with some than others.  My personal preference for gnomes is to channel <a href="https://mhi.fandom.com/wiki/Gnome" target="_blank">Monster Hunter International's style Gangsta gnome culture</a> & top it off with a healthy dose of KGB/Night Knocker style organization like <a href="https://keith-baker.com/tag/trust/" target="_blank">The Trust</a> as a political structure.  Players learn quick that gnome NPCs are a special kind of scary & I've only once had a (newer) player completely ignore the rest of the group trying to say things like "nonono that bartender is <a href="https://mhi.fandom.com/wiki/Gnome?file=Gnomes.jpg" target="_blank">a gnome and looks the part</a>, that staff he's waving around will probably kill us all... in fact I want to get far far away from this here stranger I've never met in my life and make sure the gnome knows I'm trying to control the feebleminded fool so I don't get caught in the blast" <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":D" title="Big grin    :D"  data-smilie="8"data-shortname=":D" /></blockquote>
