God encased in armor

What help can you give me in making a god who is encased in armor as punishment. The description below is what he looks like right now. I got the idea for his legs after looking at the Levaloch from Pathfinder.

He is a humanoid shaped creature that towers nine feet in height that is encased in sinister blood-red plate armor that is a living part of him. His helmet-like head looks head of some monstrous beast with bladed horns. Eerie white-hot fire blazes from within his eye sockets. Eleven-inch dagger-shaped teeth protrude from both heads’ upper jaws. These teeth are tapered to an edge on both the front and the back cusps. The pauldrons are in the shape of a gruesome looking blood-red skull. The gauntlets are clawed. The poleyne are covered with wicked spikes. He moves about on four segmented crablike legs with seven joints.

He is a god of war fire, battle, skill-at-arms, and strength. He was cursed to wear the armor he now wears all the time and it cannot be removed.

Oh, this is easy. The armor causes him to feel every cut made in violence. Every gash and wound the world over made in anger, hate or during an act of war is felt by him as surely as it is felt by the victim of the killing blow.

That's its drawback.

It's benefit is that it connects him directly to his followers so that if HE is subject to injury (such as a fireball, cleaving axe, whichever) the damage is instead redirected to one of his followers... whose cleaved head rolls to the ground in the middle of the sermon or whose body bursts into flames while engaged in amorous pursuits.

This is explained away by the clergy by telling the followers that only those who had cowardice in their hearts were smote by the war god, when in fact it's largely random.

In game terms it's a giant pool of hitpoints, like three or four thousand or so.

perhaps a god of lust imprisoned within a permanent flesh-to-metal effect ... rendering him incapable of experiencing the carnal lust s/he is reknown for, while a cursed ring of mind shielding renders him unable to even sharing such feelings by others vicariously(sp) ... effectively cutoff from their own Portfolio, the resulting lack of sensation gradually driving them insane, warping the very fabric of Love/Lust itself (at least among their faithful) as the vague reminiscence of such fades. (ie Cupid's gradual transformation into the Lady of Pain)

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!
