Message: <blockquote data-quote="nnms" data-source="post: 5946491" data-attributes="member: 83293">One of the unanswered questions of the Golarion campaign setting for Pathfinder is the details surrounding the origins of the world/universe/multiverse.None of the gods seem to take credit for it.  Talk of origins on Golarion seems to be pretty much non-existent.I think it more plausible that each individual population would have developed creation myths much like our own planet.  Is it really common knowledge that none of the gods created the universe?  If a given people know that the gods didn't create the universe, what would their world view be?  The easiest way to talk about world view is that it can answer the questions of origins, morality and future direction.So what would be the creation myth or world view of your favorite Golarion people group or religion?So I'll start with the relatively modern take held by the government of Rahadoum and likely also magical scholars:The universe has always existed, with different planets and stars coming to be and fading away according to natural law.  Also produced by these same natural laws are beings of great power who do not die of natural causes.  These being are the gods-- though they are not truly worthy of worship and service to them often results in destruction and religiously fueled bloodshed.  It's even possible that more of the gods than we realize have arisen from among mortality through the contact of certain unknown elements like those present in the Star Stone. In these powerful creatures that style themselves as the gods, we find the best and worst qualities that we find in our fellow mortals.  They are no more morally superior or inferior to any person we may have met or heard about.  So that means we get the opportunity to contribute to the definition of what it means to be good or evil.  Think carefully about what you think society should be like and act as a contributor to the well being of your fellow citizens.  It is easier for you and yours to survive and prosper when everyone around you is contributing to the definition of what is good such things that benefit others. In the future, one day we may be able to leave the gods behind completely.  Perhaps we can shut off Golarion from the maledictions of so called divine predators from the Great Beyond.  Close off the world from all non-mortal influence.  We already have the ability to starve the gods of mortal souls-- imagine if instead of being tools of execution, the soul preserving quality of Galt's final blades could be used for peaceful purposes.So what's yours?</blockquote>
