To which I say it's perfect for Epic play...you're immune to ALL spells (except the ones noted that effect the type of golem). If you are already in Epic, you probably have other ways to heal yourself besides your friend Cleric and means to buff. At its simplest, potions still work, don't they? ;) Spell Resistance is expensive as all heck, but through this, it's cheap (yet risky). Play it right, and you're an invincible tank against spellcasters. Let's have an example monster with devastating spells against a half golem character as an example: Balor. Dispel Magic is the only spell-like ability unaffected by SR. Be afraid of the 1/day Firestorm that will Slow the Flesh Golem though, but not damage it. scary! Looks like you've been demoted to a physical encounter demon general. Let's take it higher with an epic monster of horror: Gibbering Orb. Once again, Dispel Magic can't touch a half golem, but fear the Disjunction (because wouldn't that undo the arms?)! Of course, it's random at which eye does what, so you may luck out. Other than that, Disintegrate will only effect a Flesh Golem (which will only take 1d12 in comparison to huge damage), while Lightning Bolt heals it and the Cone of Cold slows it. and that's pretty much it. Just need to worry about the insanity, bites, and being swallowed whole. An ungodly monster simplified to a few worries. How isn't this awesome?
