Golem's Spell Immunity Question

I will be using a Flesh Golem in my examples, although it should be easy to replace most Golem types in there instead.

So the Flesh Golem's Magic Immunity power says that it ignores all Spells with the following exceptions: Fire- and Cold- based spells Slow it for 2d6 rounds and Electricy- spells heal it ata 3:1 HP ratio.

Does that mean any spell that does Fire or Cold damage? Or does it mean spells with a Fire or Cold descriptor in them? How would a Flaming Sword interact with that? A Shocking Flail?

Thanks again for all the help. This board has helped me out a lot since I've got here. ;)

The Sage has addressed this question. IIRC, if you hit a flesh golem with a flaming sword, it is slowed for 2d6 rounds.

Is this in one of the FAQs? Which one?

If a Flaming Sword Slows it I assume a Shocking Flail would heal it.

How would Alchemist's Fire work? Acid? An Acidic Dagger?

Thanks again. :D

It's not in the FAQ (that I know of), but in a Sage reply. I think I read it in the Sage thread on the WOTC message boards.

Yup. Cantrip cheese: Ray of frost the Flesh Golem.

I'd have no problem rule-0'ing both situations:

Cantrips...lose 5 initiative next turn

1st level or "flaming swords" : slowed for 1 rd. Hit him every round and you'll be fine. Otherwise...

In fairness, cold and fire damage spells over 6th, should probably slow for 1d6 + 6 rounds.
