Gonna be a master

I think I'll become the master of procrastination.
It'll be a challenge, but I figure I can probably get
it done in ten years or so. *If* I keep challenging myself.

*yawns* I'll do it tomorrow...

*rolls off to sleep...*

I had a HS teacher who made a huge deal about her having a PhD in English. She made it abundantly clear that she is to be called "DOCTOR"

I told my math teacher this, and he laughed, then called for everyone's attention. He paraphrases my story and then tells teh class that he too have a title. He got a masters degree, so from no won, we will refer to him as Master Rippy. I LMAO and rolled off my chair doubled over in laughter...

And I am one year away from that. By next summer, you will call me Master. And it only took me 22 years since preschool. :p

My mother has a story about a professor when she was studying (LSE in the 1960s, in case anyone's interested) who, although she had a PhD, insisted on being addressed as "Mrs". She maintained that that was the harder title to obtain.

Anyway, back to the original topic: if it were true, I'd be a master DM by now. I'm not.

In 10 years maybe I'll figure out how to be a good father - if you meant this to be serious that is my goal.

I have spent the 1st 10 years of my kids life in the Army. I work 15 hours a day when I'm not gone and leave the country unannounced for weeks at a time. (Special Forces) I am distracted and worn out when I am home. I waited till 30 to have a kid for this reason. I will retire and settle down when she's 10. Hopefully the damage is not done. Lets hope.

That's what I want to be a master of more than anything.

After ten years doing something, I may have mastered it but I will also be bored with it.

Case in point: I've been doing physics most full-time from about 1993 to 2006. I was sick of research by 2003, and now I'm teaching and doing scientific editing instead. What a relief to be doing something new!
