Good Adventures

Leffa

First Post
Hi.

My group have just taken a little hiatus until next year and when asked what was lacking they all agreed that they wanted more dungeons (I've just put them through some pretty politics heavy adventures and they wan't to just chill out with some old-fashion dungoneering).

I want to enjoy my time off from GM'ing and not spend christmas making a dungeon all by myself (knowing myself I'd start too late and end up rushing the end or having a few sleepless nights) especially since I want to play Pirats, Half-Life 2, Halo 2 and Need for Speed Underground 2 :p and was wondering if there were any good dungeoncrawls that could be adapted for level 6 characters out there (either pdf, print or free on the net).

Thanks

Well once again it goes back to your definition of a "dungeoncrawl" but I highly recommend Banewarrens by Monte Cook as a "site based adventure." Its more than a dungeon crawl, but there is a lot of dungeon in it. And its for 6th level PCs.

Otherwise there are frequently good things in Dungeon, just find one near the appropriate level and adapt as needed. The conversion notes should make that fairl easy.

A second vote for the Banewarrens- I ran it during the first half of the year, and my group and we all loved it- if you do decide to run it, make sure you check out Monte Cook's message board- there's a whole Banewarrens section which I found *very* helpful!

Ellie :)

Take a look at just about any of Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classics and Necromancer Games adventures. I'd highly recommend Aerie of the Crow God and The Sunless Garden fromm Goodman, and The Siege of Durgam's Folly from Necromancer for the levels you are looking for.

6th level? Sounds like they're about ready for Rappan Athuk from Necromancer Games. It needs a bit of work to make it fully 3.5 (assuming that's what you play), but it will certainly allow them to chill out. No, really, it will.

Leffa, are you looking for more dungeon crawls too? I read your message and interpreted it that you generally prefer other types of adventures, but would like to throw in a little more dungeon action for the sake of your players. But so far, these recommendations are for giant dungeons* that the PCs could very well be working on for much of their careers. Is that what you're looking for? Or just some short modules?

*At least this is the case for Rappan Athuk. I think it's the case for Banewarrens as well (from what I'd heard), but I haven't actually read it myself.

With Rappan Athuk, that's almost assured. Equally assured is the fact that those are likely to be very short careers...;)
