So I figured I'd start a thread to recommend them.  And to start with one I just watched and inspired me to start the thread.<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486480/" target="_blank">Silk</a> - It's a ghost movie from Taiwan.  Not exactly one of those long haired creepy kid ghost movies (as popularized by The Ring), but kinda one.  (I guess that's just how Asian ghosts are)A team studying anti-gravity is doing so by researching ghosts (since ghosts can ignore gravity, although there's a deeper explanation why in the movie). Finally they find a ghost (of a kid), but they want to find out more about him, but since he doesn't talk, they get a cop assigned to the research team who can read lips.There's a layer of either technobabble (ie, made up ) or Michael Crichton style science (made up but inspired by something real) to it involving "Menger Sponges". But it's mostly a horror movie.  Not so much gorey-horror (though there is  one stomach turning scene), but lots of tension. But also good characterization, at least of the cop and the head scientist.Not a perfect movie, one bad CG scene most notably. But I would give it a B+ or A-.</blockquote>
