Good cleric wants inflict spells

Can a good cleric pray for inflict spells from their good deity? And I'm not talking about spontaneous casting, which is selected at first level.

Yeah, he can. Previous editions took a dim view of this, but generally an inflict would is not much worse than swinging a weapon on the foe.

But there is this from 'Turn undead':

"Even if a cleric is neutral, channeling positive energy is a good act and channeling negative energy is evil."

Yes.
Clerics are prohibited from preparing cleric spells with conflicting alignment descriptors. Inflicts and cures do not have alignment descriptors. So he can not use summon monster to summon fiends but he can prepare inflict spells.

Yes - and there is a feat in C. Div that allows neutral clerics who chose to cure spontaneously to also inflict spontaneously.

which is a bit strange...i recall reading somewhere that no one person may channel both negative and positive energy....then again, that seems quite a bit too restrictive to me (hooray for the "shadow side" of the force).

I'm pretty sure those references refer to channeling as in turning undead or rebuking undead.

going both ways
