Use extreme caution when using the epic monsters from the SRD. They have attempted to partially update them to 3.5, but are not consistently doing so. Also, much of the information conflicts with the 3.5 update booklet.

For instance, many monsters now have the correct names for spells (greater dispel magic vs. greater dispelling, greater teleport vs. teleport without error), but don't have save DCs listed.

Epic Toughness does not appear to be accounted for in any monster's HD line.

Many monsters are missing touch and flat-footed ACs.

"Medium-size" is still prevalent.

The xixecal's Initiative is 6 points too high.

Colossi originally had Intelligence scores, but no skills, despite being big golems. The conversion guide corrected this, returning them to mindless. Now the SRD has granted them Intelligence once more, and granted them skills!

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that d20 publishers can now use 'em, but just be careful before unleashing them on your campaign.

Oops. I think I spoke too soon on the Epic Toughness. They are accounted in the hit point total (at least for the primal elementals), but not in the +X portion of the HD entry (which I thought was the standard, but I may be wrong).

For people that feel that there are not enough epic monsters, try advancing a Cornugon to max (45 HD), that's a CR 31 encounter right there (with 30' reach!). Any of the more powerfull outsiders will do actually, as the outsiders CR increases by 1 for each 2 HD it gains...
