Good PrC to follow Enlightened Fist?

It's possible to finish the entire 10 levels of enlightened fist by level 13. At that point, you'd have spells as a 10th level arcane caster, BAB +8, and most of the monk abilities.

Are there any prestige classes you'd qualify for at that point that would allow decent caster and melee progression?

Eldritch knight is an obvious choice, but it would require a level of something like fighter in between to get proficiency with all martial weapons.

What other good melee/caster PrCs are out there?

How? It requires 8 ranks of concentration before you enter, meaning you can't get in until 6th level. So you'll have maxed the PrC at 15th level.

Hopefully higher, since you need at least 1 level in an arcane class to get any beneift from the PrC. ^_^

For a monk, the Jade Phoenix Mage from Tome of Battle might be a way to go. You'd either need to waste three feats on gaining maneuvers/stances, or take a single level of one of the martial adept classes. But the first 5 levels are almost definately more useful than the eldritch knight.

Other prestige classes are the Blade Singer (very specific entry requirements) and the Spellsword (Whose main ability is to ignore ASF, so not that good for a monk), both in the Complete Warrior. I tried looking for a PrC for a ninja/wizard, and didn't really find anything useful.

If you could talk your DM into relaxing the requirements for Bladesinger (especially weapon focus rapier) it might be a good fit.

Oops, missed that one. You're right, 15th. I was all excited about being able to use practiced spellcaster to enter it with one level of monk and two levels of sor/wiz, but there's no way around a requirement of 8 skill ranks.

You only get 8 levels of spellcasting progression during the 10 levels of enlightened fist, and I was assuming 2 levels coming in. It would probably be higher finishing at 15th level, though.

It would be a somewhat major modification to Bladesinger to allow all its abilities to work with unarmed strikes rather than a rapier, and it's only 1/2 caster progression. The class level bonus to AC would be nice, though.

Jade Phoenix Mage sounds promising. I don't have the Tome of Battle yet, but I'll definitely look into that one. Thanks.

What are you interested in advancing primarily?

If you are willing to spend 2 feats to get in 1 level of Dragon Slayer from the Draconomicon gets you proficiency with martial weapons 2 good saves, d10 hp, a point of bab, a few mostly irelevent anti-dragon abilities, and a caster level. only 1/2 caster level progession after that though, but it opens up a lot more prestige class options.

I'd say the priorities are:

1. Arcane caster progression
2. Useful class abilities (for a monk/arcane caster build)
3. BAB
4. Saves & HP

Nice -- that's a good one. The first level of it is great: everything you mentioned, plus Aura of Courage isn't half bad -- immunity to all fear, not just dragon fear.

It's not worth 2 feats just for the one level, and it's not worth going further in the class due to the half caster progression, but it's a perfect bridging class with the martial weapon proficiencies. I'd just need to figure out what it's bridging to. Eldritch Knight is again the obvious choice, but I'll have to check out this Jade Phoenix Mage thing.
