Just because there's a "When your spouse hates your gaming" thread, and I figured it would be nice to start something that shows that not all wives (or husbands) are like that. My wife is not really a gamer. She was a drama geek in high school. Played Vampire, but more just for dressing up and drinking red wine and eventually just dissolving into giggles after a half hour or so. Tried to play D&D with me a few times, didn't love it. Is fine with me going off to play with the guys on Monday nights (referred to euphemistically as "Poker Night" when talking with parents and coworkers). She makes me tell her the stories every night when I get home. She loves the stories, loves the humor. She helps me plan monsters. She gives me ideas. One night, I'm complaining... Me: So the thing about Bob (not real name)... he always acts like he's roleplaying, but every idea he has is for an advantage, not a disadvantage. You know, like, getting a bonus to hit because he's really angry, or bonus against spells because he's dark and brooding. And, you see, in D&D, when people act like there's this term-- Her: Hm. So you're saying he's a munchkin? Me: [blink] Um. Yes. Yes, I am. I love you. -Tacky
