Greetings, I have a great wife!! When we were dating she knew I played D&D but didn't want to play. I finally convinced her to come along to a session after we got married (actually she came because the DM's wife had a baby and she wanted to see the new daughter). Anyway she watched most of the session, inbetween cooing, and thought she might like it. I explained the classes and their rolls in the game and she decided to make a cleric. She played a few times but told me she wasn't having much fun. We talked and she said she wanted to try a different character. Since you don't know my wife I will have to explain something here, she loves music from teh 40's, 50's and 60's (and she is still in her 20's). So I suggested maybe a bard might be something she would enjoy. We made up a bard, she played for a session but she didn't do much. I mentioned that bards like to make up songs and just sing for the heck of it. In the sessions that followed she came up with songs about the other characters, to the tune of golden oldies. Now all the players look forward to see who she will be singing about that session and only groan if its them. So I think my wife has made a good transition into roll playing, in between gazing at the baby (my DM and his wife just had a second daughter a few months ago). Regards, Airwolf
