[Goodman] DCC RPG Beta Rules on Wednesday, June 8

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the DCC RPG beta rules will release Wednesday, June 8.

Visit Goodman Games that day to download them.

And thus the open playtest begins!

Take a look, read the rules, roll up some characters, then post on our forums with your feedback. (Or post here and draw our attention to it! Just make sure we see it.)

And THEN, visit your favorite game store on June 18 to get the Free RPG Day module!

I've got the mod and will run it/hand it out at FreeRPG day. Looking foward to the rules. Will there be a need for pregens? Or should characters be rolled up on the spot anyway?

It takes about 5 minutes to roll up a low-level character. Maybe 10 minutes if you're not familiar with the rules.

So the rules -- and Free RPG Day support -- deliberately do not include pregens. I'd like everyone to realize how fast and fun character creation is.

For those who haven't had time to read the beta rules, there will be a "quick guide to rolling up characters" posted with the beta rules in a couple days, consolidating all the relevant rules to a couple pages.

Oh I'm also going to scan in the maps and make handouts of the sections the players could see in each area. I want them to get a glimpse of those fabulous maps!

FYI a similar type of thing for future adventures would be cool. I'm not talking about battle mats but sections that I can show the players as they explore an area.
