Not much. I asked about it on the Goodman forums, and pretty much got the whole "it's not d20" sales pitch (which seems to be typical of pretty much every non-d20 fantasy RPG). Nothing really about the actual mechanics.

It's a new RPG based off the expandable card game of the same name. You can go to board game geeks and read about the xcg. Dungeoneer.net is the place for a lots of good info, too.

Basically, you have a Dungeonlord and several players. The players gain Peril and Boons--the DL uses Peril to build up his monsters, traps, etc., and the players accumulate Boons to activate abilities, etc. There are also cards to build the dungeon as you go. Players draw cards for personal, secret quests, and I THINK the RPG has group quests, too.

I also downloaded the beta for the Duneoneer RPG, and the RPG rules look and feel pretty much like the xcg, only a little more open-ended and playable as a campaign. It's hard to tell from the beta what the final product will play like, though. You don't need the xcg to play, but you can use it if you have it.

I just ordered Dungeoneer: Tomb of the Lich Lord from Amazon, along with an expansion, Dungeoneer: The Haunted Woods of Malthorin.

I must say, too, that I am very impressed by the scenario ideas, the characters' backgrounds, and Thomas Denmark's artwork is fabulous.

I'm really looking forward to the RPG.

More info on the game will continue to unfold in the designer diaries. Check the Dungeoneer forums this time next week for the next installment, entitled "No More +1 Swords"...
